What’s up Yavné | Winter edition 2025

YAVNE school has an Instagram account, a Facebook page, and a YouTube channel. The fact that they are active on social media makes students want to join YAVNE. It opens doors for students who need to attend a Jewish and private school. Additionally, the school’s presence on social media helps create a sense of community and keeps both current and prospective students engaged with the school’s activities and events. Everything is shared while respecting everyone’s rights, and the school posts about activities, events, and other updates in a way that ensures privacy and fairness.

The 9th are happy to tell you that they published the 1st newspaper of the 1st quarter. They also began to decorate the language room with the 7th. It is decorated by the project in English which is called MY IDEAL RULES which means in French the regulation of our dreams and the 7th wrote a letter.

The 9th grade students gave presentations on the stainless steel film. They talk about pollution, tourism, determination, gravity, altitude, risks and dangers…

The Yavne School in Marseille, France, offers a theater activity to 6th and 5th-grade students, which is prepared once a week with a music teacher. In 2025, the 6th and 5th graders are participating in the theater activity and are preparing a performance for the end of the year.

This performance is prepared several months in advance and includes reading, costumes, and singing. At the end of the year, once the performance is finished, the students present it to their parents and the school administration.

Thanks to this theatrical activity, the students enrich themselves culturally and learn new things.

Middle and high school students decorated their corridors with many signs about the genocides of Rwanda, Armenia, and especially the Shoah that took place on January 27th. Important people from Marseille, politics and education, and Jewish representatives came to Yavne to attend. There was a choir, presentations, speeches and speeches on the genocides that day.

Purim is a Jewish holiday of biblical origin and rabbinic institution, commemorating the events described in the Book of Esther: the miraculous deliverance from a large-scale massacre planned against the Jews by Haman the Agagite in the Persian Empire during the reign of King Ahasuerus”.

In 2025, Purim will fall on the evening of March 13th and will continue until the evening of March 14th.

In Yavné: On Wednesday, March 12th, we celebrate purim in Yavne. All students dress up to celebrate purim! The middle-high school will do a bingo and after all the students will dance in the courtyard. Then we go home at 12 o’clock after having a lot of fun.

Pi Day is celebrated every year on March 14th, because the date 3/14 refers to the first three digits of the mathematical constant i (Pi): 3.14. It’s the perfect occasion to honor this constant, which plays a key role in geometry, especially in the calculation of circles.
